On May 1st, DESIGNATION left behind the little classroom we got our start in over a year ago. That class saw the start of nine cohorts, nearly 100 alums, a custom mural, and thousands upon thousands of collective hours spent working, building, creating, destroying, and then re-creating the stuff we just destroyed. Not to mention more than a few celebratory games of beer pong and other shenanigans on graduation night.

And while we’ll always have a soft spot in our hearts for the room where we got started, after a year it was clear we had simply outgrown the place. So we packed up our projectors, sold off our beanbags, pulled down a few hundred post-it notes, and moved the school to 1871.

We could not be more pleased with our amazing new class space, and wanted to send a big shout out of thanks to our hosts and partners at 1871!

Here are a few quick snaps of how it’s going so far:

Yes, ok, we get it, sitting is the new smoking. Fortunately, 1871 offers plenty of standing desks so students can work in a smoke-free environment. Or something.
